About the Class

Welcome to our Virtual Ballroom!

We are excited to be dancing with you.  We understand that learning to dance can be an intimidating endeavor, but we'll be keeping it simple in this 30 minute, virtual Beginner's Social Dance Class.  You'll be learning the basic patterns to two of our most popular dances, Rumba & Swing.  One of our talented staff members will guide you through the class, giving feedback & helpful hints along the way.

These easy-to-learn dances will get you moving & grooving as quickly as possible while developing a solid foundation on which we can build your dancing.  It will also give you an idea of what we offer and what you can expect from the virtual experience during future sessions.

Rumba is a great Latin dance for anyone wanting to learn Salsa, Cha Cha, Merengue or Bachata for example.  Since Rumba is considered a "slow" Latin dance, you'll be able to get the feel of the faster dances without the speed--this means your dancing, not struggling to keep up.  Swing (Jitterbug) introduces you to an easier, faster paced dance that's high energy and a lot of fun.  This dance will later become a triple step and open the door to many more styles.  Remember, this is just an introductory class.  You'll have the chance to try a variety of dances as we move through our Beginner's syllabus in later classes.

You don't need a lot of room to dance.  We understand that logistics can sometimes be a bit difficult, but you can literally dance anywhere!  All you'll need is a small space.  Whether that's in the kitchen, the center of the living room, the basement, garage, or even a hallway--we can make it work!

You'll be using the Zoom platform to login to our sessions virtually, so you will need the right equipment to get started.  As long as you have a laptop, desktop, iphone/android, or ipad with a webcam and microphone, you're on the right track.  We can guide you the rest of the way.

Let's roll up the rug and get started!
